Oglasio se Trump nakon što je potvrđena Bidenova pobjeda za predsjednika SAD
Američki Kongres danas je potvrdio pobjedu bivšeg američkog potpredsjednika Joea Bidena na američkim predsjedničkim izborima i objavio da stupa na dužnost 20. januara. Aktuelni predsjednik SAD Donald Trump rekao je da odluka “predstavlja kraj najvećeg prvog mandata u predsjedničkoj historiji”.
“Iako se potpuno ne slažem s ishodom izbora i činjenice me podržavaju, ipak će doći do uredne tranzicije 20. januara”, rekao je Trump u izjavi.
“Uvijek sam govorio da ćemo nastaviti svoju borbu kako bismo osigurali da se broje samo legalni glasovi. Iako ovo predstavlja kraj najvećeg prvog mandata u predsjedničkoj historiji, to je samo početak naše borbe da ‘Ameriku učinimo opet velikom'”, rekao je Trump ponavljajući tvrdnje o krađi izbora koje su potaknule Trumpove pristalice na demonstracije u Washingtonu.
Nakon što je završena višesatna rasprava i odbačeni republikanski prigovori na rezultate glasanja u saveznoj državi Pennsylvaniji Kongres je potvrdio rezultate glasova izbornog kolegija u preostalih 12 saveznih država na koje nije bilo prigovora.
Potvrdom broja glasova osvojenih u saveznoj državi Vermontu Biden je prešao potrebni prag od 270 glasova.
Nakon što su potvrđeni i rezultati iz posljednje države po abecedi, Wyoming, objavljeno je i da je Biden pobijedio sadašnjeg predsjednika Donalda Trumpa s ukupno 306 glasova izbornog kolegija prema 232.
