U Istanbulu je danas zvanično otvoren treći aerodrom, a predsjednik Turske Recep Tayyip Erdogan je na ceremoniji otvarenja novog aerodroma kazao da će se novi aerodrom zvati “Aerodrom Istanbul”, javlja Anadolija.

“Aerodromu smo dali ime Istanbul jer se radi o sjajnom zdanju koji ovaj neprocjenjivi grad i zaslužuje”, rekao je Erdogan u obraćanju prisutnima te izrazio želju da novi aerodrom bude sretan cijelome svijetu, regionu i Turskoj.

Istakao je da je današnje otvaranje aerodroma u Istanbulu simbol snage Turske i njenih uspjeha u proteklih 95 godina postojanja. Inače, danas se u Turskoj obilježava nacionalni praznik Dan Republike u znak sjećanja na proglašenje Republike Turske iz 1923. godine.

Erdogan je naglasio i da će “Aerodrom Ataturk” u Istanbulu i dalje zadržati status aerodroma.

“Aerodrom Ataturk će zadržati status aerodroma, ali će biti zatvoren za komercijalne letove”, kazao je turski predsjednik.

Istakao je da će kapacitet aerodroma biti 90 miliona putnika u prvoj etapi, dodajući da bi na kraju kapacitet mogao biti povećan i na 200 miliona putnika.

Napomenuo je da troškovi izgradnje novog istanbulskog aerodroma iznose 10 milijardi i 247 miliona eura.

“Aerodrom svojom arhitekturom i načinom izgradnje je blistavo lice naše zemlje i projekat za primjer cijelome svijetu”, kazao je Erdogan, naglasivši da je “Aerodrom Istanbul” investicija ne samo za Tursku nego i za cijeli svijet.

U obraćanju je apelovao na prijateljske zemlje da zajedničkim naporima grade mirniji i sigurniji svijet.

“Obraćam se svim prijateljima u regiji i svijetu. Hajde da zajedno gradimo mirnu, sigurnu i prosperitetnu budućnost”, rekao je predsjednik Turske.

Svečanoj ceremoniji je osim predsjednika Republike Turske Recep Tayyip Erdogan i drugih najviših zvaničnika Turske prisustovalo i više od 50 visokopozicionirnih zvaničnika iz svih dijelova svijeta, između ostalih Denis Zvizdić, predsjedavajući VM BiH, i predsjednik Srbije Aleksandar Vučić.

Aerodrom je izgrađen na ukupnoj površini od 76,5 miliona kvadratnih metara, a ostale faze bi trebale biti završene narednih godina.
