Schmidt kratko i jasno: Izbori u BiH će se održati u jesen 2022. godine
Visoki predstavnik Christian Schmidt pozvao je sve političke snage u BiH da konstruktivno rade na novom Izbornom zakonu, ističući da će se opći izbori održati na jesen 2022. godine s novim Izbornim zakonom ili bez njega.
Dodao je da izbori moraju odražavati volju birača, a moderan izborni zakon koji osigurava transparentne izbore po utvrđenim demokratskim standardima i u skladu s odlukama Evropskog suda za ljudska prava je u interesu svih.
“Istovremeno, želim da naglasim da postoji važeći izborni zakon koji precizno reguliše izbore. U slučaju da ne dođe do izmjene izbornog zakona, izbori će se održati u jesen 2022. godine prema odredbama postojećeg zakona”, naglasio je visoki predstavnik.
Potcrtao je da se “o tome ne može pregovarati”.
“Demokratija funkcionira prema unaprijed određenim pravilima, a posebno izbori ne smiju postati predmet političkih manevara. Slobodni, jednaki i pošteni izbori su u srcu demokratije”, potcrtao je visoki predstavnik.
Podsjećamo, danas su u toku pregovori u Neumu o izmjenama Izbornog zakona u BiH. U razgovorima učestvuju predstavnici HDZ-a predvođeni Draganom Čovićem, predstavnici SDA Bakir Izetbegović i Šefik Džaferović, američki i evropski posrednici Matthew Palmer i Angelina Eichhorst, austrijski diplomata Johann Sattler, predstavnici OESS-a, predsjednik SBB-a Fahrudin Radončić, kao i Denis Zvizdić u ime stranke Narod i pravda.
