Sretan Dan nezavisnosti Bosne i Hercegovine!
Građani Bosne i Hercegovine prije 28 godina opredijelili su se za nezavisnu domovinu od kada se 1. mart obilježava kao Dan nezavisnosti BiH, a važi za jedan od najznačajnijih datuma u modernoj historiji naše zemlje.Na današnji dan 1992. godine građani BiH su se, izlaskom na referendum, opredijelili da žive u samostalnoj i suverenoj državi te na taj način potvrde hiljadugodišnji kontinuitet postojanja naše zemlje.
Na tadašnji referendum o nezavisnosti odazvalo se više od dvije trećine građana BiH, tačnije 64,31 posto građana ili 2.073.568 glasača. Oni su odgovorili na pitanje “Jeste li za suverenu i nezavisnu Bosnu i Hercegovinu, državu ravnopravnih građana, naroda BiH – Muslimana, Srba, Hrvata i pripadnika drugih naroda koji u njoj žive?”. Za nezavisnu i suverenu Bosnu i Hercegovinu tada je glasalo više od 99 posto građana koji su izašli na referendum, dok je 0,3 posto bilo protiv te odluke.
I pored ratnih zbivanja koja su proistekla iz ovog akta, Referendum je bio legitiman i legalan izraz demokratske volje građana. Rezultati referenduma prihvaćeni su 6. marta 1992. godine u Parlamentu BiH, a u mjesecima poslije brojne evropske zemlje prihvatile su BiH kao nezavisnu državu.
Međutim, nakon međunarodnog priznanja Bosne i Hercegovine, u proljeće 1992. godine započela je agresija na BiH.
Nedugo nakon krvavog rata 1995. godine, Prvi mart je proglašen državnim praznikom, Danom nezavisnosti. Prethodno je Zakon o 1. martu donijela Skupština Republike BiH, 28. februara 1995. godine.
Iako je prošlo 27 godina, kompromisa i saglasnosti o obilježavanju 1. marta kao Dana nezavisnosti BiH na teritoriji naše države još uvijek nema. Politički predstavnici entiteta Republika Srpska i danas negiraju ovaj državni praznik, dok su širom Federacije BiH uzdignute zastave naše zemlje u znak slavlja samostalne i suverene BiH.
