Predsednik Sjedinjenih Američkih Država Donald Trump potpisao je ukaz kojim priznaje izraelski suverenitet Golanskom visoravni.
Taj dokument predstavlja odstupanje od američke politike u poslednjih pola stoljeća, navodi AP.
Prije potpisivanja u Bijeloj kući u prisustvu izraelskog premijera Benjamina Netanyahua Trump je rekao da „ svaki mogući budući bliskostični sporazum mora uzeti u obzir pravo Izraela na samoobranu“.
Netanyahu je već dugo vršio pritisak na SAD da priznaju Golan, okupiran u Šestodnevom ratu 1967. i anektiran 1981. godine, kao izraelski.
Trumpov poticaj pred izbore u Izraelu
Trumpovo priznanje daje mu poticaj pred izbore u Izraelu za koje se očekuje da će biti neizvesni.
Netanyahu je stojeći kraj Trumpa ponovio da se zbog raketnog napada na centralni Izrael u kojem je ranjeno sedmero ljudi ranije vraća kući.
Izraelski lider je taj napad označio” okrutnom agresijom”.
„Izrael to neće prihvatiti. Ja to neću prihvatiti“, rekao je izraelski lider u trenutku kada su već počeli izraelski udari na ciljeve Hamasa u Gazi.
„Izrael nikada nije imao boljeg prijatelja od vas“, rekao je Netanyahu Trumpu, preneli su izraelski mediji.
Američki predsjednik je 21. ožujka na Twitteru napisao kako je došlo vrijeme da SAD, nakon 52 godine, u potpunosti prizna suverenitet Izraela nad Golanskom visoravni.
Kritike brojnih zemalja i organizacija
Brojne su zemlje, uključujući i Europsku uniju, oštro reagirale i kritizirale Trumpovu objavu, a neslaganje su izrazili i Ujedinjeni narodi.
Priznanje spornog područja predstavljalo bi veliki zaokret u američkoj politici i snažan vjetar u leđa Netanyahuu, koji se u kampanji za izbore 4. travnja i suočava s optužbama za korupciju.
Trumpov potez osudila je i sirijska Vlada, koja je poručila da je odlučna u tome da povrati to područje “svim dostupnim sredstvima”.
UN smatra Golansku visoravan okupiranim teritorijem.
