Velika Britanija šalje skoro 8.000 vojnika u istočnu Evropu
Oko 8000 britanskih vojnika ide u istočnu Europu kako bi sudjelovali u vojnim vježbama koje se održavaju zbog ruske agresije.
Kako navodi SkyNews, radi se o jednom od najvećih razmještaja britanskih vojnika od hladnog rata, a vojnici će biti razmješteni u više zemalja, od Finske do Makedonije.
Osim vojnika, ovog će ljeta na brojne lokacije biti poslani deseci tenkova i više od 100 oklopnih borbenih vozila.
Cilj je odvratiti Ruse od eventualne agresije na Baltik
Britanskim oružanim snagama pridružit će se deseci hiljada vojnika iz NATO-a i saveznika, među kojima su Danska, Island i Norveška.
Ministarstvo obrane priopćilo je da će planirane vježbe poboljšati sposobnost britanskih i finskih vojnika da rade zajedno na odvraćanju od ruske agresije u Skandinaviji i baltičkim državama.
Ministar obrane Ben Wallace rekao je da će taj potez pokazati solidarnost i snagu.
“Sigurnost Europe nikada nije bila važnija. Ove će vježbe pokazati kako naše trupe udružuju snage sa saveznicima i partnerima u pokazivanju solidarnosti i snage u jednom od najvećih zajedničkih razmještaja vojnika od hladnog rata”, rekao je Wallace.
