Članovi Predsjedništva BiH kod pape Franje

Predsjedavajući Predsjedništva BiH Dragan Čović i članovi Predsjedništva BiH Bakir Izetbegović i Mladen Ivanić bili su na audijenciji kod pape Franje u Vatikanu.
Članovi Predsjedništva BiH razgovarali su s papom Franjom o aktuelnoj situaciji. Istaknuta je važnost unapređenja političkih odnosa i intenziviranja reformskih procesa, te ispunjenja uvjeta koji su u funkciji jačanja evropske perspektive Bosne i Hercegovine. U tom kontekstu najavljena je predaja odgovora na Upitnik visokim zvaničnicima Evropske komisije, predviđena za 28. februar ove godine. Istaknut je i značaj nedavno objavljene Strategije o proširenju na zapadni Balkan, koja naglašava otvorenu perspektivu članstva u EU za sve zemlje zapadnog Balkana.
Članovi Predsjedništva BiH izrazili su zahvalnost papi Franji na podršci koju su do sad pružali Bosni i Hercegovini, te izrazili nadu da će se ta podrška nastaviti i u budućnosti u okviru napretka ka punopravnom članstvu u Evropskoj uniji.
Nakon susreta članova Predsjedništva BiH s papom Franjom održana je audijencija za delegaciju Bosne i Hercegovine, u kojој su učestovali zamjenik ministra vanjskih poslova Josip Brkić, ambasadorica Bosne i Hercegovine pri Svetoj stolici Slavica Karačić, Tonka Krešić-Gagro, šefica Kabineta predsjedavajućeg Predsjedništva BiH Dragana Čovića, Elvir Čamdžić, šef Kabineta člana Predsjedništva BiH Bakira Izetbegovića, i Slavko Vučurević, savjetnik u Kabinetu člana Predsjedništva BiH iz Republike Srpske Mladena Ivanića.
Nakon audijencije kod Svetog oca, članovi Predsjedništva BiH imali su susret s kardinalom Pietrom Parolinom, državnim sekretarom Svete stolice. Istaknuli su da su bilateralni odnosi BiH i Svete stolice prijateljski, uz visok nivo razumijevanja i saglasnosti o najvažnijim političkim pitanjima u domenu bilateralnih odnosa i ukupnih međunarodnih odnosa.
Naglasili su da BiH izuzetno cijeni pomoć Svete stolice BiH i što u svom djelovanju zagovara toleranciju i ravnopravnost. Osnovni ugovor između Svete stolice i BiH, i pored privremenih zastoja u pojedinim odredbama, ostaje trajna obaveza BiH, koju ona nastavlja provoditi. Također, obaveze iz oblasti Osnovnog ugovora i Dodatnog protokola koje su na sebe preuzele institucije BiH i entiteta ostaju trajne, a njihova provedba ostaje trajna obaveza svih nadležnih institucija.
Kardinal Parolino naglasio je da Sveta stolica pruža podršku BiH jer je i u njenom interesu stabilna BiH s evropskom perspektivom. Ponovio je da Sveta stolica podržava jačanje kulturnog i međureligijskog dijaloga, suživot u BiH i njen multietnički karakter, saopćeno je iz Predsjedništva BiH.
