Nogometaši Barcelone pobijedili su na Camp Nou u okviru petog kola Lige prvaka ekipu Borussije iz Dortmunda rezultatom 3:1 te su se tako Katalonci i zvanično plasirali u nokaut fazu elitnog evropskog klupskog takmičenja.
Domaći su u vodstvo došli u 29. minuti kada je Suarez pogodio na asistenciju Messija, a samo četiri minute kasnije dvojac je zamijenio uloge i udvostručio vodstvo Barce. Ujedno je 2:0 bio i rezultat prvog poluvremena.
Messi je nastavio sjajno igrati i u nastavku meča pa je upisao još jednu asistenciju, ovaj put za Griezmanna, koji pogađa za 3:0. Počasni gol za Borussiju postigao je Sancho u 77. minuti.
Barcelona se plasirala u nokaut fazu budući da su nakon pet kola na prvom mjestu s 11 osvojenih bodova, dok Inter i Borussia dijele drugu poziciju sa po sedam bodova.
Nogometaši Liverpoola i Napolija remizirali su na Anfieldu u 5. kolu grupe E Lige prvaka i na taj način nastavili borbu za plasman u osminu finala sa Salzburgom koji je savladao Genk.
Salzburg je slavio na gostovanju kod Genka rezultatom 4:1 i nastavio je veliku borbu za jedno od prva dva mjesta. Pogotke za austrijeskog prvaka su postigli Daka (43.), Minamino (54.), Hwang (69.) i Haaland (87.), dok je počasni pogodak za domaću ekipu postigao Samata (85.).
U grupi H Ajax je pogocima Ziyecha (2.) i Promesa (59.) savladao Lille u gostima i preuzeo je prvo mjesto na tabeli nakon što su ranije danas Valencia i Chelsea podijelili bodove odigravši rezultatom 2:2.
