Saudijska Arabija ima “komplikovan odnos” sa selfijima, budući da je jedan visoki vjerski zvaničnik ovaj popularni vid fotografiranja okarakterizirao kao pojavu “koja se širi među ljudima koji bi voljeli da se dopadnu zapadnjacima”.
